Legends Brass:   LegendsBrass.com

Our Cat Anderson inspired Bb trumpet mouthpieces have been our top sellers over the last six years.  We can't believe how popular they have become! Inspired by a true legendary player and true legendary mouthpiece, these pieces are "Cat-Like". Here is a link and brief description:

Legends Brass Cat Anderson Bb Trumpet Mouthpiece

These SuperCat models are inspired by a mouthpiece played by the legendary Cat Anderson. They have extremely wide, round, comfortable rims, with some undercut for chop room. They have very small inside diameters and super shallow cups (similar to Bach F). All three models, the SuperCat, SuperCat II, and SuperCat III have the same rim and cup design, but the inside diameters are different, as noted below. Each SuperCat model has the Legends enhanced throat (#27), throat cylinder length and Legends S backbore. Slotting is excellent with all three models. These mouthpieces are best suited for screaming upper register work, like Cat Anderson was known for. Each model is available in the lightweight, standard weight and heavyweight blank (see below for details).  This auction is for one mouthpiece. The buyer chooses the model (SuperCat I, II, or III) and the blank (lightweight, standard weight, or heavyweight).

Legends Brass RS .654 & .624 Bb Trumpet Mouthpieces inspired by a Roy Stevens RS2 Jet Tone

Legends Brass:

We are excited about the success of our Legends RS .654 & .624 Bb trumpet mouthpieces.  They were inspired by a true legendary player, Roy Stevens, and true legendary mouthpiece, Jet Tone RS2. Here is a brief description:

Ebay Legends RS .654 & .624 Bb Trumpet Mouthpiece Link

The JT RS was inspired by the Jet-Tone model RS2, designed for and played by the legendary Roy Stevens*. Mr. Stevens played with some legendary greats such as Tommy Dorsey, Bunny Berigan, and Benny Goodman. Later he headed his own big band, which won the Downbeat Band of the Year Award in 1950. Mr. Stevens is also credited with developing the Stevens-Costello embouchure system (with his trumpet instructor William Costello), which is still popular today. (Check out www.roystevens.org for more information about the Stevens-Costello method.) The JT RS is sold in the stunning Legends Vintage blank, which has a beautiful art deco look. There isn't a lot of excess mass, which makes it versatile enough for general playing but with plenty of zing for those solo and lead parts! The rim is round and soft, with some undercut for chop room. The cup is shallow, and is the traditional Jet-Tone convex V shape. The rounded entrance to the throat allows great air flow for a nice big sound even in the upper register. Slotting is excellent with the JT RS. Legends Brass has updated the original with our enhanced throat (#27), throat cylinder length, and the Legends Vegas backbore. These modifications enhance endurance, range and sound for the player. The Jet-Tone RS2 had an inside diameter of .654in, however Legends Brass is offering the JT RS in two sizes: .624in and .654in.

JT RS .624 Specs:

Outside Rim Diameter: 1.096" (27.85 mm)

Outside Rim Contour: Round

Inside Rim Diameter: .624" (15.85 mm
)

Inside Rim Contour: Round

Cup Depth: Similar to Bach E

JT RS .654 Specs:
Outside Rim Diameter: 1.096" (27.85 mm)

Outside Rim Contour: Round

Inside Rim Diameter: .654" (16.61 mm)

Inside Rim Contour: Round

Cup Depth: Similar to Bach E

The JT RS is kept in stock in the Vintage blank (below). This blank is inspired by classic Jet-Tone mouthpieces played by some famous trumpet players of a bygone era. It has a beautiful art deco look. There isn't a lot of excess mass with this blank, which makes it versatile enough for general playing but with plenty of zing for those solo and lead parts!

About Me:
My name is Derek and for as long as I can remember I've been on a quest to find the perfect trumpet mouthpiece. Over the years I've bought, played, and sold countless mouthpieces, tops, backbores and trumpets.  If it is out there, I've probably tried it.  Through this extensive research I would often find a rim I liked, but the cup, throat, and/or backbore were wrong.  This went on and on until I finally had a few custom pieces created.  I decided to focus on merging different pieces, and found that a lot of the best pieces on the market were real close to being perfect for me but still needed a little tweaking.  This was the beginning of my Legends mouthpiece design.

This Legends Brass Trumpet Mouthpieces thing is a side venture for me.  I'm not ready to give up my desk job, yet.  But playing trumpet is a hobby which I am very passionate about.  I'm a spread and blow kind of guy, and had the time of my life wailing on La Fiesta in DCA's CorpsVets back in 2007.  I also play regularly in church, so I have respect for the more legit style of playing.  I'm very hopeful that some of my experience can be used to help my clients have the satisfaction of finding and playing the perfect mouthpiece, top, or backbore for them.  Above all I'm committed to providing excellent customer service and the best possible workmanship on all Legends products.
